Within the scope of my studies, I created a "corridor" and decided to make a japanese-style one, which required a strong ability to use wood textures.
To that end, I studied how wood textures were usually applied and learned how to do so. The most important point being to work on the geometry so that it replicates how wood pieces would fit with each other in order to avoid weird texture connections and keep the seams of the textures aas clean as possible.
Software(s) :
Blender, Substance 3D Painter, Unity
I used a plank-shaped alpha map to create textured ground while using only a falt plane to learn how to make optimized flat surfaces while keeping them as interesting to look at as possible.
I also added colored noise to make the wood more realistic and less like plastic.
